This course is a comprehensive first aid and CPR course for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic to in-depth. You will learn:
- Preparing to Respond
- Emergency Medical System (911)
- Heart attack & stroke prevention, recognition, and first aid treatment
- Defibrillation (AED) certification included
- How to help an adult, child and baby who is choking
- When and how to provide CPR for adults, children and babies
- Adult/Child - 2 rescuer CPR
- Severe allergic reactions (Anaphylactic Shock)
- Asthma, hyperventilation, chest injuries
- Shock & bleeding (also includes minor cuts, scrapes, bruises, amputations, impaled objects and bleeding nose)
- Secondary Survey
- Head & spinal injuries
- Muscle, bone & joint injuries
- Burns (Heat, Chemical, Electrical and Sun)
- Diabetic emergencies
- Seizures (Convulsions)
- Fainting
- Heat Cramps, Heat Exhaustion and Heart Stroke
- Hypothermia and frostbite
- Emergency child birth
- Poisoning
Payment: Prepayment is recommended. We offer courses on a first come basis and participants who have prepaid will be given priority, as we have limited space in each course. We accept cash, Visa, and Mastercard.
Location: All courses are held at First Aid for Life Training Center. This is located in the Airport Village Mall on the corner of Avenue C and Cynthia Street, 1 block north of the Travelodge Hotel. (Look for the giant palm tree!)
Parking: For all weekday courses please park on Cynthia Street, weekend course participants may park in the parking lot.
Please arrive on time, as 100% attendance is mandatory. Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the classroom as many of our skills are practiced on the floor, therefore socks, indoor shoes or slippers are recommended.
